Commander Bio

Henrique Ernesto Fernandes (1882–1954) was a pioneering Brazilian Navy officer whose bold tactics and strategic innovations defined South American naval warfare in the early twentieth century. Known as 'O Tático' for his aggressive gunnery methods and innovative fleet doctrines, he commanded multiple warships with distinction and modernized Brazilian naval strategy. Fernandes' influence on naval doctrine and tactics remains central to military historians' understanding of Brazil's naval heritage.
